Rita Almazuri, a first-generation law student in her third year, was born in Iraq. She had a fondness for reading books as a child, particularly those in the crime and thriller genres.

Despite having loved studying all areas of law from Sixth Form, her interest in the subject has grown particularly in the areas of medical negligence and land law.
